FortisBC Holdings Inc. indicators settlement with First Nation over B.C. LNG undertaking

SURREY, B.C. — FortisBC Holdings Inc. says it has signed a cope with a First Nation in British Columbia over the Tilbury liquefied pure fuel enlargement tasks. The subsidiary of utilities firm FortisInc.

SURREY, B.C. — FortisBC Holdings Inc. says it has signed a cope with a First Nation in British Columbia over the Tilbury liquefied pure fuel enlargement tasks.

The subsidiary of utilities firm FortisInc. says it’s going to collaborate with the Snuneymuxw First Nation on the enlargement of the Tilbury LNG facility in Delta, B.C., and associated tasks.

FortisBC Holdings says it respects Snuneymuxw’s rights in relation to the potential results of the undertaking and is dedicated to sharing undertaking advantages with the First Nation.

It says Snuneymuxw has dedicated to supporting the tasks and taking part within the required regulatory processes. 

The corporate says the Tilbury LNG facility enlargement is meant to assist strengthen FortisBC’s fuel system, whereas additionally serving the rising demand for LNG as a marine gas.

FortisBC says switching from conventional marine gas to LNG can cut back greenhouse fuel emissions from ships by as much as 27 per cent.
