U.S. Pure Fuel Salt Storage Initiatives Stage Comeback as LNG, Renewables Drive Demand

Greater than a decade after its final giant build-out, pure fuel salt dome storage is present process a revival alongside the Gulf Coast as LNG exports and renewables elevate demand and costs for the versatile storage choice.

In February, Gulf Coast Midstream Companions LLC (GCM) filed with Texas regulators to construct the area’s first greenfield salt dome in years.
