Air Liquide advances low-carbon hydrogen in Singapore | Hydrogen

The Singapore business of industrial gas major Air Liquide has signed a memorandum of understanding with Aster Chemicals and Energy to assess the production of low-carbon hydrogen using autothermal reforming (ATR) with carbon capture.  The partnership will explore the potential of deploying an ATR unit with carbon dioxide capture, pairing Air Liquide’s reforming technology with Aster’s refining and petrochemical infrastructure.   Both companies said the work supports Singapore’s long-term plan to scale low-carbon hydrogen as part of its transition to net-zero by 2050.  “[This initiative] aligns with its global strategy to actively accelerate the development of a low-carbon society,” said Tina Loke, CEO of Air Liquide Singapore.   … to continue reading this article and more, please login, register for free, or consider subscribing to gasworld You’ve reached your weekly limit to access free articles! Keel laying for third out of 20 planned jack-ups done, with fourth rig in the pipeline

Aside from a deal to build a fourth jack-up in a series of 20 planned newbuild Saudi-operated and manufactured offshore rigs, which has been signed by International Maritime Industries (IMI) and ARO Drilling, a 50/50 joint venture between Valaris and Aramco, a keel laying ceremony has been held for a third jack-up in the same series, which ARO intends to deploy to meet Aramco’s drilling demands. Möhring Energie to build 1GW green hydrogen and ammonia plant in Mauritania

German green energy specialist Möhring Energie plans to build a 100MW green hydrogen and ammonia plant in Nouadhibou, Mauritania. Set to be scaled in stages up to 1GW, the industrial plant is expected to produce 140,000 tonnes of green hydrogen and 400,000 tonnes of green ammonia per year from 2029. Around 500 sq km has been allocated for the first phase, with the site expandable on terrain that “offers the best solar and wind conditions” for renewable energy.
