Linde to unveil hydrogen-powered truck at Taiwan energy event | Hydrogen

Taiwan-based Linde LienHwa will debut what it says is the country’s first hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck at Energy Taiwan/Net-Zero Taiwan in Taipei on 29 to 31 October. Linde LienHwa operates one of Taiwan’s largest fleets of industrial gas tankers and wants the on-site demo to help regulators and operators stress-test the pathway for hydrogen trucks, including type approval, safety certification and operations. The showcase follows transport-policy updates in Taiwan that raised subsidies for fuel-cell buses to as much as NT$20m ($650k) per vehicle in September, though current support excludes trucks. “Compared to battery-electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles have clear advantages: fast refuelling, extended range, and higher payload capacity,” said Christine Miao, Vice-President of Corporate Communications at Linde LienHwa. She added that these characteristics make hydrogen better suited to long-haul and heavy-duty cycles. … to continue… Read More »Linde to unveil hydrogen-powered truck at Taiwan energy event | Hydrogen

Air Liquide today reaffirmed US hydrogen infrastructure assets as one of its four core growth engines, after group revenues fell 2.4% in the third quarter on the back of currency impacts and lower energy prices. The assets category complements investment in electronics and healthcare, the energy transition – such as the 200MW ELYgator electrolyser project in the Netherlands – and strategic and bolt-on acquisitions, like DIG Airgas in South Korea and NovaAir in India, which was announced yesterday. Earlier this month the French industrial gas major announced it would invest $50m to upgrade existing hydrogen infrastructure as part of newly signed hydrogen supply deals with two US refiners. The investment will expand pipeline capacity and integrate new distribution systems to strengthen its footprint in Texas, where it already operates pipeline infrastructure and its La Porte… Read More »Air Liquide confirms industrial hydrogen as core growth driver | Air Liquide News
