Samsung E&A breaks ground on Indiana ammonia project | Ammonia

Engineering and project management firm Samsung E&A has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its Wabash low-carbon ammonia project in Indiana, US. The project, to be built in Terre Haute, will produce up to 500,000 tonnes of ammonia and capture 1.67 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. The ceremony was held in Washington DC. It is being funded by the US Department of Energy, the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Korea’s Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment. Samsung E&A signed an engineering, procurement, and fabrication contract worth approximately KRW680bn (approximately $475m) with Wabash Valley Resources in October last year. It aims to complete the project in 2029. … to continue reading this article and more, please login, register for free, or consider subscribing to gasworld You’ve reached your weekly limit to access free… Read More »Samsung E&A breaks ground on Indiana ammonia project | Ammonia

Oil oversupply risks and global crude trade realignment loom with Venezuela’s regime change

As Venezuela faces a regime change, the country’s production recovery is staring at a decade-long timeline despite near-term supply gains, according to Wood Mackenzie, an energy intelligence group, which believes that additional Venezuelan barrels could pressure Brent prices below mid-to high $50 per barrel (bbl) of oil in the first quarter of 2026 amid oversupply and also realign flows, diverting Middle East heavy barrels to Asia and intensifying competition for Canadian crude in the U.S. Gulf Coast. Exclusive interview with Yinson Production: Deepwater plays setting the stage for ‘robust’ FPSO and FSO market dynamics

With Brazil, West Africa, Southeast Asia, and Namibia at the heart of its expansion quest and its frontier push revolving around carbon capture and low-carbon moves, Malaysia’s Yinson Production, a subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur-based energy infrastructure and technology company Yinson, has set its cap on rolling out practical emissions-reduction solutions across its fleet of mobile offshore production units (MOPUs), as all-electric floating production facilities are perceived to still be a distant prospect. Gas as the bridge to a net zero energy system | Columnists

Alan Dunne, Managing Director, UK and Ireland at Aggreko UK, makes the case for gas-powered generation on the road to net zero For many UK industrial operators, the drive to net zero is not a distant ambition. It plays out in daily challenges for manufacturers, data centres, and other energy intensive industries. These facilities need access to reliable and continuous power at an affordable price, so that critical processes do not stop. Renewables, like wind and solar, are not always viable, and their intermittency presents an ongoing challenge. Batteries provide much needed resilience as well as additional capacity during peaks, but they cannot deliver power continuously over extended periods. That is why modern gas-powered generation remains essential for industry, providing a dependable backbone when the grid cannot meet demand. Across Europe, industrial sites are finding… Read More »Gas as the bridge to a net zero energy system | Columnists
