Energy investment on course for record $3.3 trillion in 2025 | Finance

Global energy investment is set to increase to a record $3.3 trillion in 2025, despite headwinds from elevated geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty, according to a new International Energy Agency (IEA) report. Investment in clean technologies – renewables, nuclear, grids, storage, low-emissions fuels, efficiency and electrification – is the main driver, and will account for $2.2 trillion. Solar PV continues to attract more capital than any other technology. Next to this, investment in oil, natural gas and coal is set to reach $1.1bn, underlining the gradual pace of the energy transition, with global spending on upstream oil and gas gravitating towards the Middle East. Investment in new liquefied natural gas facilities is on a strong upward trajectory as new projects in the US, Qatar, Canada, and elsewhere prepare to come online. Between 2026 and 2028,… Read More »Energy investment on course for record $3.3 trillion in 2025 | Finance

Webinar: Leak detection and emissions for hydrocarbons and hydrogen | Technology

Few areas are more important to industrial gas companies than leak detection. And with increased scrutiny on curbing emissions, ensuring safety and sustainability in all operations is vital. In today’s NevadoNano-sponsored webinar, Gary Collins, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing, and Jason Ayres, Field Services Manager, took attendees through the technologies and options available to ensure efficient and cost-effective processes. NevadaNano provides safety and climate tech for many of the world’s largest corporations, including multi-gas sensing products and continuous IoT monitoring systems based on its proprietary Molecular Property Spectrometer (MPS) sensor platform. Collins outlined the properties of the MPS, which can be configured to detect a variety of gases and different industry applications, such as flammable gas, HVAC and refrigerant, fugitive emissions, or battery off-gassing. One of its key benefits is the sensor’s 15-year life. It… Read More »Webinar: Leak detection and emissions for hydrocarbons and hydrogen | Technology

Less is more: small projects can boost hydrogen at scale | Podcast

Hydrogen development is starting to step up globally but the importance of starting small was underlined in the latest 1895 podcast, entitled ‘How to support the hydrogen economy through infrastructure innovation’. Chuck Hayes, Global Technical Lead of Clean Energy at Swagelok, said, “Keeping systems small, elegant and compact is really the goal. Oil and gas systems use pressure release valves everywhere, but in hydrogen we want to build it with the least amount possible. That leaves you with [fewer] possibilities of leaks.” He provided listeners with useful geographic and market updates on the podcast. “Some areas of Asia are taking off like crazy. China, Japan and India are coming up to scale quickly and Indonesia is finally getting off the ground. Canada, in particular Alberta, is coming along, and British Columbia has always been active.… Read More »Less is more: small projects can boost hydrogen at scale | Podcast
