APAC IG 2025: China ‘ahead of India’ in decarbonisation drive | asia-pacific industrial gas conference 2025

India may hope to be a disruptor in decarbonisation, but China has been working on it for 25 years – and is some way ahead. The argument was made as part of a wide-ranging panel discussion at gasworld’s Asia-Pacific Industrial Gas Conference 2025 in Bangkok today. Speaking as part of a panel debate moderated by GWGI’s Rob Cockerill, Ravin Mirchandani of Ador Group noted that China has built the scale and developed technologies for decarbonisation, and it can also offer unmatched prices: something like a quarter of the European cost base in many contexts. “That reality puts other regions, like Europe, in real jeopardy,” he added. … to continue reading you must be subscribed To access hundreds of features, subscribe today! APAC IG 2025: Asia-Pacific ‘will outpace global growth’ in industrial gases to 2030, says GWGI | apac-centric local champions dominate home-market sales

The industrial gas market in Asia-Pacific will outpace global growth in the years ahead, as hi-tech and health markets surge ahead in the region. But it is the North Pacific part of the region – China, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan – that will continue to dominate and drive that growth story to 2030. APAC IG 2025: Chinese green hydrogen is mature now, but questions remain | hong kong-based consultancy energy iceberg presented

China is today redefining the global competitiveness of green hydrogen and green molecules more generally. It stands out as the only integrated hydrogen economy, even if it is sometimes misunderstood. Yuki Yu of the Hong Kong-based consultancy Energy Iceberg presented to delegates at gasworld’s Asia-Pacific Industrial Gas Conference 2025 and offered this perspective on China alongside some eye-catching numbers on its evolving story. She said Energy Iceberg’s researched showed that today there are more than 900 green hydrogen projects in development in China, with about 650 actively moving forward, and more than 200 electrolyser OEMs active. Alongside this, there are more than 320 Chinese developers in the green hydrogen market, as well as more than 100 electrofuels projects underway. “China is changing the landscape in green molecules,” said Yu. “This is underpinned by the largest… Read More »APAC IG 2025: Chinese green hydrogen is mature now, but questions remain | hong kong-based consultancy energy iceberg presented
