Orlen eyes European hydrogen supply network after funding boost
The funds will be paid out from the National Recovery Plan budget. Hydrogen Eagle is expected to produce hydrogen using renewable electricity and municipal waste, for the transport and industrial sectors. The other project, Green H2, is focused specifically on Orlen’s refinery operations in Gdańsk. The project will involve a 100MW electrolyser powered by renewable energy, used to decarbonise fuel production at the site. Lotos Green H2, a special-purpose company within Orlen, will run the project. Orlen is aiming to use 350,000 tonnes of renewable and low-emission hydrogen annually by 2035. Orlen Capital announced last month it will invest in Hystar, the Norwegian manufacturer of high-efficiency proton-exchange-membrane electrolysers for large-scale, zero-emission hydrogen production. Hystar is targeting annual production totalling 1.5GW of electrolysers from 2027. Earlier this month Orlen signed a memorandum of understanding with Naftogaz group, its second agreement,… Read More »Orlen eyes European hydrogen supply network after funding boost
