INEOS completes hydrogen conversion at Hull plant amid ETS dispute | Hydrogen

UK-based chemicals maker Ineos has completed a £30m upgrade at its Hull manufacturing site to convert its facility from natural gas operations to clean hydrogen. According to David Brooks, CEO at Ineos Acetyls, the conversion has resulted in CO2 emissions being reduced by 75%, the equivalent of removing 160,000 petrol cars from the road. The blue hydrogen used is a co-product of existing processes used at its Hull site, purchased from BP in 2021.
