ITM Power wins 710MW German electrolyser contracts
German engineering and project development company Stablegrid Group has chosen ITM Power to supply electrolyser capacity totalling 710 megawatts for two energy infrastructure projects. In the first project in Rüstringen, the UK electrolyser firm will supply a 30MW green hydrogen production plant based on Neptune V containerised electrolysers, and 680MW indoor electrolyser capacity is planned for the second one. They will operate exclusively for grid balancing and stabilising the power system, using underground caverns as hydrogen storage facilities to absorb discrepancies between electricity supply and hydrogen consumption.
