French pipe manufacturer Vallourec has signed a memorandum of understanding with underground energy storage specialist Geostock to jointly develop infrastructure solutions for hydrogen storage and carbon capture, utilisation and storage.
Announced in December 2025, the collaboration brings together Vallourec’s tubular solutions and hydrogen storage systems with Geostock’s experience in subsurface energy storage, including salt and rock caverns.
Under the agreement, the two companies will work across the hydrogen storage value chain, targeting both small- and large-scale storage applications.
Vallourec’s Delphy system is designed to store up to 100 tonnes of hydrogen under high safety conditions, while Geostock’s underground cavern solutions are suited to larger capacities exceeding 500 tonnes.
